I am the Director of Instruction at Robbie Blackwell Golf in Prattville, Alabama. Teaching golf is a passion of mine, and it is very satisfying to be able to help someone improve. One of my favorite quotes is, "my greatest accomplishment is someone else's accomplishment"! I am just a communicator of information. The work my students invest into getting better is why they improve.
I have been teaching golf since 2007. My main focus is to keep things simple for the student. The majority of my students are recreational amateur golfers, who do not play or practice everyday. While my process for teaching each student is based on the same principles, there are multiple ways I can deliver this information. I do not have a method of teaching that everyone will fall into. I teach each student according to their skills and abilities.

Shannon Yost
Shannon joined Robbie Blackwell Golf in January 2019 after previously taking lessons and playing with Robbie Blackwell on a regular basis. He has worked primarily with Junior and Adult Group Lessons while becoming certified to teach with Robbie Blackwell Golf. He is currently an Associate of the PGA of America working towards his PGA Class A membership.
Shannon is a former baseball player, competing at the collegiate level at Troy University (Troy State) in the mid to late 90's. After retiring as a Firefighter, he decided to pursue a career in golf instruction. He hopes to use his athletic background to help students become better golfers.
With Shannon's experiences, he looks to be a valuable asset teaching golfers of all ages and abilities. He believes that no matter what, at the end of the day, golf should be fun!
